KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City’s Tech N9ne has been tapped to remix the FIFA World Cup theme to represent the metro area across the globe during the sporting event.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the FIFA World Cup 26 announced that Kansas City’s Sonic ID, an audio signifier custom to each host city, will be produced by the metro’s very own Tech N9ne.

FIFA noted that Host City Sonic IDs will be used in broadcast, digital, in-stadium communications and more. The IDs shine as a spotlight on local pride as a remix of the Official FIFA World Cup 26 Theme.

FIFA officials indicated that this is the first time a World Cup has featured Sonic IDs tailored to each city of the tournament. KC2026 is expected to reveal the full remix in mid-March.

Tech N9ne is a metro area rapper, songwriter, record producer and co-founder of Strange Music, Inc.
