KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - A man is sentenced to life in prison for killing two Wyandotte County sheriff’s deputies, more than six years after their murders.

Antoine Fielder pleaded guilty to two counts of capital murder of a law enforcement officer and one count of aggravated robbery in December.

The charges stem from the June 15, 2018, shooting deaths of Wyandotte County Deputies Patrick Rohrer and Theresa King. Fielder is accused of overpowering the deputies as they transferred him from jail to the Wyandotte County Courthouse for a hearing.

Rohrer, 35, died shortly after the shooting and King, 44, died the following day. Fielder was injured in the shooting but survived.
