KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A new exhibit is at Union Station’s Science City and it’s one of the more unique, hands-on experiences.

It’s all focused on the Guinness Book of World Records and will be open to the public Saturday.

Once there, kids and parents get the chance to learn about world record holders, see some of their achievements up close, and even try to beat them at their own game!

The set-up is different than usual Science City exhibits, this one with 70 interactive displays and only about 30 artifacts - more action-packed than normal.

Union Station COO Jerry Baber says this is what will make the exhibit more fun for attendees as compared to past showcases. And the fun is for kids of all ages.

“You and your kids are going to be competing, talking about this, learning about world records and talking about how crazy this is, how much time and effort some of these people put into this so it’s great family time where you’re truly interacting with each other,” he said.

Baber says between Missouri and Kansas it’s estimated there are 250 to 300 world record-holding residents. This hands-on experience hopes to not only educate but inspire a new generation of categories and record holders.

The exhibit will be up through Labor Day weekend.
