Lansing man pleads guilty after drugs found during crash investigation
LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (KCTV) - A Lansing man could face jail time after he was convicted of driving under the influence of an illegal narcotic.
Leavenworth County, Kansas, Attorney Todd Thompson’s Office announced on Friday, Feb. 7, that Danny L. Granger, 77, of Lansing, pleaded no contest to charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence following his September 2024 arrest.
Court documents noted that Granger entered the plea on Friday, with a sentencing hearing expected to be held on April 18.
The Leavenworth Police Department indicated that Granger was arrested on Sept. 5, 2024, after law enforcement officials responded to a traffic complaint near S. 20th and 19th Terr. Officers arrive to find Granger in the driver’s seat of a nearby vehicle.
Investigators said Granger hit a curb, which caused his tire to blow. A search of his car revealed an illegal narcotic inside, while Granger was found to be under the influence.
“Drug possession and driving under the influence do not mix. It is dangerous and illegal,” Thompson concluded.
