KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - On Saturday, Ark Deliverance Ministries and the Southeast Community Center teamed up for ‘Blessings in Action,’ an event focused on bridging the gap to those in need.

At the event, more than 100 Kansas Citians received free clothes, household items, feminine products, toiletries, and Starbucks drinks and snacks.

“As well as canceling disconnections for people that are needing their services to stay on for gas and electricity, and we are also making money pledges to make sure that they can sustain their bills from month to month,” said Ark Deliverance Ministries Founder, Natasha Clark.

"I have gone to ask for help I've been a single parent and had nothing and had to learn how to bridge the gap. So between Jesus bridging the gap and people lending a hand, I always wanted to be the bridge because somebody was my bridge."(KCTV5)

This is the first ‘Blessings in Action’ for Ark Deliverance Ministries.

“Inflation is ridiculous and if we can talk about just being at home, Cloverleaf was shut down– that is south Kansas City. People are misplaced, unhoused, they have nowhere to go, and when food stamps run out, they don’t have toiletries. So you don’t even have the funding to go from month to month, they don’t have clothes, kids are being sent home for not being in uniform. So wherever the bridge is we want to close that gap,” said Clark.

She knows how it feels to need extra assistance and not have any.

“I have gone to ask for help I’ve been a single parent and had nothing and had to learn how to bridge the gap. So between Jesus bridging the gap and people lending a hand, I always wanted to be the bridge because somebody was my bridge,” said Clark. She added, “I think that when we can come and be a ministry that serves we are not focused on building , we are focused on building bridges and that is very important.”

Clark said they are planning a similar event in October for those facing homelessness, are widowed, or orphans.
