Report: Chiefs restructure Jones, Mahomes’ contracts to free up $49M cap space

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Two major players for the Kansas City Chiefs are looking at adjusted contracts as the team works to fit new players on the roster.
According to NFL insider Field Yates, the contracts of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and defensive tackle Chris Jones were restructured to free up $49.446M in cap space for the team.
The specifics of the reported restructuring were not shared, but it gives the team what it needs to sign left tackle Kristian Fulton.
Moore was signed to a two-year deal estimated at $30 million while Fulton was signed onto a two-year, $20 million contract.
James Winchester are among other new and returning signers ahead of the 2025 season.
