Happy KC Current Big 12 Snake Saturday... Here’s your guide
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The greater KC area is gearing up for an action-packed Saturday, with a diverse range of events catering to a variety of interests.
Festivities kick off with the Snake Saturday Parade in North Kansas City. Below is a picture of the recommended parking lots, but there are even more located north of Armour Road.

The parade has been a beloved tradition with the 41st edition to begin at 11 am on Swift Street. It will be led by Grand Marshal David Johnson, the founder of Chicken N Pickle and champion of all things related to Northtown.
Families and other attendees are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion by wearing green and arriving early to secure parking, as the parade is expected to draw large crowds.
“We get a couple 100,000 people up here, families celebrating the season,” Johnson said. “It’s very good for all the businesses. Chicken N Pickle should be full tomorrow, and all the businesses will have banner days.”
Women’s Soccer enthusiasts can also catch the KC Current game that kicks off at 11:45 on Saturday morning.

The game is anticipated to bring a surge of activity to the River Market, with local businesses anticipating an increase in foot traffic. Enzo Co Owner and General Manager Grant Norris has a special cocktail that will be available for those over 21 years of age.
“We have teal limoncello slushies that we run every single game day, as long as they last, it’s one of our most popular drinks,” Norris said. “(KC Current) is huge for us, but also for the entire River Market. This whole area just floods with teal and red every game day.”
Those planning to attend the game should be aware of the Grand Street Bridge closure and factor in the potential for high street parking costs. A footpath that takes around 30 minutes to walk begins at Main Street and the riverfront.
As Saturday continues, the excitement shifts downtown to the T-Mobile Center, where the Big 12 Tournament Championship game tips off at 5 pm.
The T-Mobile Center offers various parking options, with prices varying based on proximity to the venue.
