Metro band in Ireland’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade
BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (KCTV) - With St. Patrick’s Day just days away, some local band students boarded a flight to Ireland!
The Blue Springs High School students left the airport just before 8 a.m. Friday morning bound for Dublin.
of the Golden Regiment Marching Band and Wildcat Jazz Ensemble are slated to perform at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The route begins at noon in Parnell Square north of the city, moving southward. The grandstand is located on O’Connell Street, Dublin’s main thoroughfare and the ceremonial centre of the Parade route.
KCTV was at KCI as the students boarded the plane.
“The feeling is crazy! I’ve never been out of the country before, and going with my friends is going to be an awesome experience” said one band member. “I’m really looking forward to marching there and doing what I love in front of a huge audience is amazing,” said another.
The St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Dublin is a five-day event with parades, street carnivals, Irish and international entertainment.
