‘Cleaning the streets’: Driver of stolen street sweeper arrested near KC sports bar
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it is cleaning up the streets of the metro after the driver of a stolen street sweeper was arrested.
The Clay County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office told KCTV5 News that just before 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, the Kansas City Police Department requested its help to find a stolen street sweeper truck.
Law enforcement officials noted that the truck had been lifted from the area of Highway 152 and N. Oak Trafficway. It was described as a 2020 white Ford F-250 pickup that had been modified for street cleaning. The pickup was ed to All Care Services LLC out of Kansas.
Investigators indicated that the truck was spotted near the main entrance of Captain’s Sports Lounge at 10221 N. Oak Trafficway as a disturbance occurred behind the business. Two individuals were spotted in the otherwise empty parking lot.
The Sheriff’s Office said one man who was near the truck was taken into custody as a result. He was turned over to KD for further questioning.
As of Sunday, March 16, no charges have been filed in the case. The suspect’s name has not been released as a result. No further information has been released.
