WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KCTV) - A convicted felon in Missouri has been charged with kidnapping after he held a woman in her room and attempted to solicit sex from her.

Johnson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Monday, March 17, indicate that Ezekiel Douglas, 38, of Union Star, has been charged in connection to the incident.

A probable cause statement filed by the Warrensburg Police Department revealed that on Sunday, law enforcement officials were called to a home with reports of a disturbance. A caller reported Douglas broke into her home, destroyed the place and stood loomingly in the backyard with a firearm.

When first responders arrived, they said they found Douglas with a pistol in his right hand and a large knife in his left. He ducked behind a truck and attempted to hide before he was quickly taken into custody.

During the investigation, law enforcement officials said they found Douglas had been convicted of narcotics crimes in Kansas and had been barred from the possession of a firearm.

The victim told investigators that Douglas attempted to solicit sex from them a few hours earlier, however, he was denied. He proceeded to hold the victim in their room for more than an hour and told them he would kill them and their families if they told anyone what happened.

As a result, Douglas has been charged with kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, he could be forced to spend 14 years behind bars and to pay a $20,000 fine.

A court appearance was held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19. As of Wednesday, he remains behind bars on a $15,000 bond. No further information has been released.
