Olathe father found: Yust’s body recovered from Miami County pond, police confirm

LOUISBURG, Kan. (KCTV) - On Tuesday, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a man’s body was recovered from a pond in Louisburg the night before.

According to officials, the body was found near West 247th Street and U.S. 69 Highway on March 24.

Hours later the Olathe Police Department said an autopsy confirmed the identity of the body as Jordan Yust.

The case remains under investigation.

Yust was last seen on March 3, after he left his home in Olathe and made concerning comments about possible self-harm. Hours later, his vehicle was found near 69 Highway and 247th Street.

In the weeks following, authorities searched for Yust using cadaver dogs, drones, planes a dive team, ATVs, UTVs, horses and volunteer efforts but found nothing of note. Several possible sightings of Yust were reported but did not yield any new information.

The final identification of the body could come as quickly as Tuesday but is in the hands of the medical examiner’s office, the sheriff’s department stated.
