Christians gather at the Capitol to counter Black Mass
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Ahead of Friday’s Black Mass, Christians gathered outside the Capitol on Thursday evening.
“Raise the Praise” brought people out to worship Jesus through live music and t prayers.
They’re praying for the safety of everyone involved in Friday’s events and for the of the Satanic Grotto.
“Coming out and praising and worshipping is so vitally important and tomorrow that’ll continue, we’ll continue to pray,” said Plains Regional Manager of Turning Point USA, Tony Barton. “We’ll even pray for the Satanic Grotto. We’ll be praying for Michael and all of his individuals that come out, his minions. We just want to see God move.“
Catholics have expressed their view that the Black Mass is mocking their faith, but Satanic Grotto leaders say their ritual is responding to religious influence on American politics.
