First Warn Weather Day declared for Tuesday due to severe storm threat

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - We have upgraded Tuesday to a First Warn Weather Day for Tuesday, specifically for the threat later in the day. Current data indicates thunderstorms firing up late in the evening and pushing through the region into the early overnight.
The Weather Day will go into effect at 8 p.m. and last through 4 a.m.
The confidence is growing for multiple severe thunderstorms in our coverage area. This could begin as a few isolated supercells and then turn into a larger line. All hazards will be possible, including a tornado or two. The main hazards will be hail and gusty winds.
