Volunteers trapping cats for 2 days, part of City of Belton’s TNR program
BELTON, Mo. (KCTV) - Volunteers are trapping cats in the City of Belton on March 31 and April 1.
This is part of Belton’s Trap-Neuteur-Return (TNR) program. Trappers will be on the following streets:
- Hargis
- Lillard
- Herschel
- Miss Ellie Circle
Stray or feral cats needing neutering or those interested in volunteering can call or text (816) 406-5681.
TNR benefits both the cats and the community. All feral cats will be spayed, neutered, vaccinated and eartipped.
To make this a success, keep pet cats inside so they are not accidentally trapped. If any stray or feral cats are being fed, TNR so volunteers know where cats eat and spend some of their time.
Do not feed outdoor cats, but continue to provide water. Feral cats are more likely to enter traps if they are hungry, and move your own pet’s food inside. Once trapping day is over, food can be moved back outside.
