LIVE BLOG: City of Nevada hit hard with storm damage due to morning severe weather

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for parts of Pettis County. By 9:20 a.m., the severe weather had moved out of the KCTV5 viewing area and into Cooper County, Missouri.
Several crashes impacting the morning commute. Just before 6 a.m. a driver was pulled from their car at 67th and Blue Parkway in Kansas City. KCTV5 has a crew on scene but no injuries are reported. Officials warn to never drive into pooling water.
In addition, drivers may experience slow downs along I-70 westbound before I-435 and I-70 westbound and Prospect Avenue. Another delay at I-670 and Gennessee Street as vehicles slide off there.
