OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - Firefighters say “all signs point to lightning” after an Olathe home caught fire early Wednesday morning.

Around 5:30 a.m. on April 2, the Olathe and Lenexa Fire Departments were called to a home at Santa Barbara Boulevard and Pasadena Drive.

Neighbors reported hearing a crack of lightning just before they saw flames coming from the home’s roof.

The Olathe Fire Department said they were able to put the fire out quickly, but the home suffered significant damage. There is a six-foot by six-foot hole in the roof, and “all signs point to lightning” as the cause.

No injuries were reported, but two people were displaced and are receiving Red Cross assistance.
