BUTLER, Mo. (KCTV) - An EF-0 tornado is confirmed to have briefly touched down Northeast of Butler during a round of severe storms in Missouri.

The National Weather Service announced on Wednesday evening, April 2, that a brief EF-0 tornado touched down in an open field about 5 miles northeast of Butler earlier that morning.

According to the NWS, the tornado touched down near County Road 4004 and NE County Rd. 6003. It continued northeast and resulted in minor damage to power poles, trees, empty grain bins and an outbuilding.

The path of the tornado was about half a mile as it dissipated just south of State Route D. Peak winds were estimated to be 85 mph.
