HIGGINSVILLE, Mo. (KCTV) - A 36-year-old man has been charged with a child sex crime after he allegedly attempted to claim he had been the victim during a polygraph test.

Lafayette County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Friday, March 28, indicate that Jeffrey Yutzy, 36, of Higginsville, has been charged with a child sex crime.

A probable cause statement filed by the Higginsville Police Department revealed that on Feb. 19, law enforcement officials received information from the Lafayette County Missouri Children’s Division about a hotline tip completed by a local counselor.

The tip reported that a teenager known to law enforcement officials had been involved in an incident with Yutzy.

Law enforcement officials said they learned the suspect ed the victim through Facebook and was aware of her age. He allegedly lured her to his house, where he proceeded to get her drunk and sexually take advantage of her. The victim reported that she barely ed the incident and that she woke up with a new tattoo.

Investigators noted that Yutzy initially denied that he knew the victim or that he tattooed her. However, a search of his home revealed a tattoo gun, needles and empty packaging.

During a polygraph exam, law enforcement officials said Yutzy then claimed he had been the victim and the teen was the aggressor. However, the test revealed that to be a deception as some of his claims were “physically impossible.”

The investigation also revealed that after the victim’s parents confronted Yutzy, he deleted his Snapchat and Facebook s in an attempt to cover the crime up. Investigators also found he had previously been convicted of battery for tattooing a teenager without their parents’ consent.

As a result, Yutzy has been charged with statutory rape. If convicted, he could face up to 7 years behind bars and be forced to pay an up to $10,000 fine.

A court appearance has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 10. As of Friday, April 4, Yutzy remains behind bars on a $15,000 bond. No further information has been released.
