WILLIAMSBURG, Kan. (KCTV) - An investigation has opened after a 2-month-old child was pronounced deceased by first responders at an RV park south of Olathe.

The Franklin County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office says that just before 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, emergency crews were called to Homewood RV Park and Campground with reports of an infant who was not breathing.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a family member who had attempted to ister life-saving efforts to a 2-month-old child. Despite all efforts, the child was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Law enforcement officials noted that the death is under investigation, however, no foul play is suspected at this time. The Sheriff’s Office has extended its condolences to the child’s family and those impacted by the tragedy.
