KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Charges have been filed against an 18-year-old after a Saturday shooting that killed two men.

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department said 18-year-old Kenneth Flowers has been charged with five felonies, including two counts of first-degree murder after a shooting on Saturday, April 5, that killed 19-year-old Javon Brown and 20-year-old Delorean Jackson.

Flowers’ other charges included aggravated battery, criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal damage to property.

He’s being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $200,000 bond.

The shooting on Saturday happened in the 800 block of N. 70th Street near the College Park Townhomes community, just south of the KCK Community College campus.

KCKPD said 56-year-old David Stephens was also charged with felony distribution of marijuana and felony possession of drug paraphernalia for his role in the case. He’s being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

On Monday, police chief Karl Oakman said the shooting wasn’t random, saying it was a drug deal that turned into a violent robbery.
