KCTV5 hosts another free E-Waste recycling event on Earth Day

FAIRWAY, Kan. (KCTV) - It’s time for Spring cleaning, and we wanted to help you get rid of some of your unwanted electronics.
In light of Earth Day, KCTV5 and 1-800-GOT-JUNK? hosted a free E-Waste Recycling Event on April 22.
The event ran from 6:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Tuesday.
We helped fill eight trucks weighing approximately 24,000 pounds in total e-waste to be sorted and recycled by partner 1-800-Got-Junk!
Accepted e-waste items included:
- Televisions (console, flatscreen, LCD, OLED, plasma, etc.) sized 32″ or less
- LCD monitors, smart displays, and tablets
- Laptops with LCD monitors
- OLED desktop monitors, laptops, and tablets
- Computers, computer monitors, and printers
- VCRs
- Portable DVD players with video screens
- Cell phones and telephones
- Radios
