BUTLER, Mo. (KCTV) - A ed sex offender who was previously released on bail has been arrested, charged and released on bond again after a search warrant was served at a drug house.

The Bates County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office says that on Wednesday, April 2, law enforcement officials served a search warrant at 410 N. Fulton St. in Butler in connection to a narcotics investigation. As a result, three individuals were arrested as methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and narcotics distribution equipment were seized.

Investigators noted that George Lewis, one of the three arrested, is also a ed sex offender currently out on bond. He has now also been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and was held on a $100,000 bond. He has since bonded out of jail.

“This is another example of the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office continuing to put in the work to take these career criminals off of the streets. Mr. Lewis has a long history of breaking the law and was already out on bond in connection with a sex crimes case, but has proven that he holds no regard for the law and will continue to be a menace to the community. We will continue to go after career criminals and put them in jail for the crimes they commit,” said Sheriff Anderson.

Law enforcement officials indicated that the two other individuals, both women, were later released without charges. An initial arraignment has been set for Lewis at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23. No further information has been released.
