Independence police identify motorcyclist killed in crash on Missouri Route 291

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - The Independence Police Department has identified the man who died early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash.

According to IPD, the driver was 48-year-old Jeremy Robinson from Oak Grove.

The crash happened at about 12:20 a.m. on April 13. Robinson was reportedly driving south on Missouri Route 291 when he hit the back of a Chevrolet Equinox that was stopped at a red light on 23rd Street.

He was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene. Neither the driver nor enger in the Chevrolet were injured.

Independence police said the crash is still under investigation.
