Our weather is undergoing a change starting Wednesday with a warm-up and rain chances returning. We have a First Warn in place Thursday to highlight the chance for some strong storms. Easter weekend is also tagged with a First Warn on both days, highlighting outdoor plans may be impacted by rain. We may see heavy rain at times, especially Thursday morning and over the weekend, with 1-2″ possible total through Sunday.

WEDNESDAY: Cool morning with mid-40s and a south breeze at 10-15 mph. A few patchy showers possible 9 am to noon, with the best chances south of I-70. Drying for the afternoon with warmer low to mid-70s and south breezes gusting up to 30 mph.

THURSDAY: First Warn in place due to scattered strong storms early in the morning. Timing is 3 to 8 am for Kansas City, with a Level 1/5 risk for severe storms. Hail and high winds are possible in some isolated pockets. Kansas City is likely dry the rest of the day with nearly hot mid-80s and strong south winds gusting up to 40 mph. A second round of storms is possible in late afternoon and evening, though these are likely north of the metro.
