Suspect taken into custody after shooting at Grain Valley Dollar General

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (KCTV) - A shooting at a Grain Valley Dollar General store left one person hospitalized Monday night.

The Grain Valley Police Department said officers were called shortly after 6 p.m. to the Dollar General store located at 1701 NE Main Street. At the same time, officers were also called to a nearby home where they found a victim with a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Grain Valley Police took a person of interest into custody at a nearby house who they say is connected to the incident. Police said they also took others into custody for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation.

There’s currently no information as to what led up to the violence.

“At this time, the GVPD is not seeking any other individuals in connection with this incident,” GVPD said. “There is no ongoing safety concern for residents.”
