Individual pulled from Missouri River identified as missing Kansas man

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - The man pulled from the Missouri River earlier this week has been identified as the same man who went missing from a Kansas City neighborhood nearly a month earlier.

The Kansas City Police Department says that around noon on Thursday, April 17, emergency crews were called to Levee Road near the Missouri River with reports of a deceased individual.

When first responders arrived, they said they did find an unresponsive individual along the river. The individual was recovered and pronounced deceased.

On Friday, April 18, the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department revealed that the man was identified as Brandon Anfinson, 39, who had been reported missing nearly a month earlier.

Investigators noted that Anfinson’s family reported him missing on March 21, after he was last seen at his home in the Argentine neighborhood. Since that time, multiple extensive searches have been conducted in the area.

Law enforcement officials said the missing persons case has now moved to a death investigation. Anyone with information should report it to Crime Stoppers at 816-474-TIPS.
