KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Overland Park Police Department reminds residents of city ordinances to ensure the safety of all community .

It is illegal for a golf cart to be driven on any interstate or street within the corporate limits of the city. This includes neighborhood streets and public sidewalks.

When driving an electric motorcycle or dirt bike, drivers cannot operate on city trails or prohibited areas, but these vehicles are generally legal otherwise. Drivers must have a valid motorcycle license, registration and insurance.

Electric scooters cannot be driven on any interstate or highway. However, it is legal to operate a scooter on a city sidewalk. These vehicles cannot exceed 15 mph on city sidewalks. Drivers may not operate electric-assisted scooters on streets with posted speed limits greater than 35 mph.
