Teenager seriously injured after rollover collision near Crystal Lakes
CRYSTAL LAKES, Mo. (KCTV) - A teenager was seriously injured after he veered off a Missouri highway over the weekend, hit a fence and flipped his car.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that just before 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, emergency crews were called to the area of Route Y nd Crystal Dr., near Crystal Lakes, with reports of a single-vehicle crash.
When first responders arrived, they said they found a 17-year-old male from Lawson had been driving a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis north on the highway when he veered off the left side of the road as he went through a curve.
State Troopers said the Mercury hit a fence and flipped over before it hit a bridge rail and landed on its top. The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, was taken to Liberty Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators noted that the Grand Marquis was totaled in the crash. No further information has been released.
