OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) - A Johnson County man pleads guilty to killing the man he was dating, according to investigators.
The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office announced Joseph Andrew Wacaster pleaded guilty to premeditated first-degree murder April 21. The plea is part of a plea deal, according to online court documents.
The charge stems from an investigation last year.
Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Edgerton on March 30, 2024. When they arrived they found a man’s body inside the residence.
The victim was later identified as 27-year-old Cade H. Blackburn. Prosecutors said Blackburn and Wacaster were in a relationship.
Wacaster is scheduled to be sentenced for the crime on June 3 and could face life in prison without the possibility of parole for 50 years, according to court documents.
