Woman accused of repeatedly slamming 11-year-old’s head into slide told mother she wished daughter would die

CANTON, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) - A woman was arrested after allegedly slamming an 11-year-old’s head into a slide and telling the girl’s mother that she hoped the girl died.

According to the Canton Police Department, officers responded to an assault call Friday.

Destany Scott, 20, was detained on the scene while she was in an argument with the mother, Paige Dishong.

Dishong said Scott got into a fight with her 11-year-old child at a park and “repeatedly slammed her head off the metal portion of a slide,” according to the arrest report. Police said they have video of the alleged assault.

While Scott was being arrested, she told Dishong that she hoped the 11-year-old would die, according to the arrest report.

Dishong then ran at Scott, according to the arrest report. Dishong was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.

Scott was charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
