Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson arrested for DWI

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC/Gray News) – Former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was arrested by Minnesota State Patrol early Friday morning, the day after the first night of the 2025 NFL draft.

According to Sports Illustrated, Peterson was in Minnesota for the Vikings’ draft party the night before. He broadcasted live from the party with a local radio station in the area.

Details around the arrest haven’t been released, but according to the Hennepin County Jail roster, 40-year-old Peterson was arrested around 5:15 a.m.

The jail roster shows Peterson posted a $4,000 bail and was released around 7:30 a.m.

The former NFL all-star is facing a charge of fourth-degree DWI, a misdemeanor in the state of Minnesota. This charge is usually given when it is a first-time offense and the alcohol concentration was below .16.
