Local nonprofit sells plants to help children in foster care system
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A plant sale’s proceeds benefit a horticulture program for local foster children.
Cornerstones of Care, a nonprofit focused on ing youth in the foster care system, is hosting the ‘Thyme for Kids’ plant sale. The nonprofit focuses on mental and behavioral health and is certified in trauma-informed care.

Build Trybe, a trade mentorship program within the nonprofit, gives young people the opportunity to grow and cook their own food at multiple Cornerstones of Care campuses. Participants of this horticulture program receive over 150 hours of vocational training, a Food Handlers certification card and hourly compensation.
The sale runs on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Cornerstones of Care Ozanam Campus Greenhouse.
