Charges filed against Trimble woman after 2 children involved in DWI crash
TRIMBLE, Mo. (KCTV) - A Trimble woman faces multiple charges after she allegedly ran into another vehicle while heavily intoxicated with two children in her backseat.
Clinton County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Sunday, April 20, indicate that Tiyona A. D. Munoz, 31, of Trimble, has been charged with two counts of child endangerment and a single count of driving while intoxicated.
A probable cause statement filed by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office revealed that just after 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, emergency crews were called to the area of Highway 169 in Trimble with reports of a 2-vehicle crash.
When first responders arrived, they said they found a woman, identified as Munoz, who appeared distraught. She denied that she had consumed alcohol, but she allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol.
During the course of the investigation, it was found that a 10-year-old and a 1-year-old child were inside Munoz’s car when she rear-ended another vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result.
Law enforcement officials noted that a breathalyzer test was given to Munoz, who blew 0.189%. She was arrested and taken to the Clinton County Detention Center, where she subsequently failed three sobriety tests.
As of Saturday, April 26, she no longer appears behind bars as her $50,000 bond has been posted. A court appearance has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10. No further information has been released.
