KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A North Kansas City wheelchair tennis tournament features athletes from multiple states.

Competitors from Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Wisconsin are taking part in the USTA Heart of America Heartland Wheelchair Classic. Both men and women have singles and doubles divisions, and first and second place finishers will receive a stipend.

What if an athlete doesn’t have access to a sport wheelchair? Midwest Adaptive Sports hosts the tournament and provides sport wheelchairs to some athletes.

The tournament is held at the the Northland Racquet Club in North Kansas City. It began on Saturday, April 25, and will go until Monday, April 27.
