Altercation at store near 9th and Prospect leads to deadly shooting; suspects in custody
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A shooting in the area of 9th and Prospect is under investigation as a homicide.
Kansas City, Missouri Police Department dispatchers received a call just before 6 p.m. for a shooting in that area.
Police said officers arrived at the scene in less than a minute and found a man in a business parking lot suffering from gunshot trauma. The man was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries and later died.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed multiple people entered the store and were involved in a physical altercation with another man that led to shots being fired.
Multiple suspects have been taken into custody for questioning, KD said less than two hours after the original call. Police said they are not currently looking for any additional suspects.
