KEARNEY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol was on the scene of a serious accident on Interstate 35 Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly after 1 p.m. on April 29 as a 19-year-old from Illinois was driving north on I-35 through Kearney, Missouri.

MSHP said the 19-year-old rear-ended a second car, causing it to hit a third. A fourth person, a 75-year-old Texas man driving a 2009 Harley-Davidson, then hit the first and second vehicles before driving off the left side of the roadway. He hit the cable barrier and was ejected from his bike, suffering serious injuries.

The 19-year-old was the only other driver with reported injuries but she refused treatment, MSHP reported. Her car was extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
