WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - National security adviser Mike Waltz is leaving the White House for New York. Just over the 100 day mark, one of President Donald Trump’s key advisers is on his way out, but nominated for a new position.

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz is done at the White House after a turbulent three plus months in his post.

In a Thursday afternoon social media post, President Trump announced he is nominating Mike Waltz to be the next US Ambassador to the United Nations. The nomination comes after one of the biggest scandals of the first 100 days fell largely at Waltz’ feet. Waltz, Secretary Pete Hegseth, and many other officials discussing military operations using the messaging app Signal - with Walz inadvertently adding the editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic to the chat. Waltz left his career on Capitol Hill representing Florida in the House to President Trump. It is unclear who will be tapped as the next permanent National Security Adviser. But President Trump also added in his social media post that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as his interim National Security Adviser while continuing to carry out his current duties. I
