$500 reward offered for return of puppy mill rescue to loving metro family
MERRIAM, Kan. (KCTV) - A $500 reward is still on the table for anyone who helps bring home a beloved metro area dog who was previously rescued from a puppy mill.
The Great Plains SPCA announced on Friday, May 2, that after more than two weeks, Cody, formerly known as Mason, a beloved rescue dog, remains missing from his home in the Kansas City metro.
Shelter staff noted that Cody comes from a traumatic background and requires a gentle approach if spotted and should not be chased. A $500 reward has been offered to anyone who helps to bring him home.

Leaders at the SPCA indicated that Cody, a poodle mix, was rescued from a puppy mill and recently found his forever home. During a bath, he slipped away and is now missing from the Overland Park area. He was not wearing a collar at the time.
“This dog has already endured so much in his life after coming from a severe hoarding situation,” said Tam Singer, CEO of Great Plains SPCA. “We are pleading with the public to keep an eye out and help us bring him home safely.”
Cody was last seen in the area of 159th and Quivira about a week ago. No further information has been released. Anyone with information about Cody’s whereabouts should report it to the Great Plains SPCA immediately at 913-230-8377.
