Former KU guard Rylan Griffen commits to Texas A&M
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - A second former Kansas Jayhawk is ing the Texas A&M Aggies.
On Friday, former Kansas guard Rylan Griffen told On3 Sports that he was transferring to Texas A&M for his senior season.
Griffen, a Texas native, heads back to the SEC following a year at Kansas. He spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career at Alabama and started for a Crimson Tide team that reached the Final Four in 2024.
The 6-foot-5 guard from Richardson, Texas, averaged 6.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game for a Jayhawks team that went from a preseason No. 1 ranking to a first round exit in the NCAA Tournament. Griffen shot 37.2% from the field and 33.6% from 3-point range, a significant dip from his 39.2% shooting percentage from distance as a sophomore at Alabama.
That 6.3 points per game was a significant dip from the 11.2 he averaged as a sophomore for Nate Oats at Alabama.

He started in 20 of 33 games for KU in 2024-25 and has started 53 of his 106 career games in college basketball.
Former Kansas forward Zach Clemence ed new Texas A&M head coach Bucky McMillan earlier this spring. Now, Griffen will him in College Station next season.
Griffen s the aforementioned Clemence, guard David Coit (Maryland), forward AJ Storr (Ole Miss) as of the Jayhawks who have found new homes for next season after entering the transfer portal.
