KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Another beautiful day is on tap as temperatures are starting off chilly in the upper 30s low 40s with mostly clear conditions. If you are heading out the door this morning make sure to grab a jacket and the sunglasses. It is going to be a nice day to be outside golfing, grilling, pickleball just don’t forget the sunscreen. Today is almost a copy and paste of Saturday with only a few degrees warmer and calmer winds. This evening a jacket may again be needed as temperatures drop to the mid 40s overnight.

The calm pattern continues into the beginning of the workweek with highs in the 70s with more cloud cover by midweek.

A first warn is in place for Wednesday as isolated to scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder are expected. It does not look like a wash out of a day but an umbrella will be handy. The activity will be off and on through the day and into the overnight hours. Right now the coverage is still uncertain, so make sure to check back into the forecast as we get closer.

By next weekend, temperatures will be back in the 70s!

Over the next week, temperatures will generally hang out in the 60s and 70s. Monday and Tuesday bring temperatures in the lower 70s with mainly dry conditions.

We throttle back a few degrees Wednesday and Thursday with clouds in place and the potential for off-and-on showers. Right now, we have a 40% confidence on Wednesday and a 30% confidence on Thursday. Confidence is growing, especially on Wednesday, to have a pretty good rain opportunity, so we added a First Warn. Doesn’t look like thunderstorms at this time. If our computer modeling gets a bit more bullish, we will probably raise that chance a bit. We will see as we get closer.

At this point, late next week looks really nice again with the lower 70s back in the forecast. There are some 80s picking up on our long-range models for maybe the middle of May, so we will see how that shakes out.
