Sex offender wanted in Georgia found living in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An absconder from the sex offender registry who had been ordered to face his alleged crimes in Georgia was found and arrested in Kansas City.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Tuesday, April 29, indicate that Marc R. Loomis, 44, of Kansas City, has been arrested in connection with his alleged failure to as a sex offender in Georgia.

Hall County, Georgia, court documents revealed that Loomis was most recently charged with failure to as a sex offender in 2020. The crime is alleged to have happened in 2018, while he was on probation for a violation of the sex offender registry conviction.

The Georgia Offender Registry currently lists Loomis as an absconder following his 2012 conviction of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.

Missouri court records indicated that an extradition order was signed for Loomis’s return to Georgia. As of Saturday, May 3, he remains behind bars in Jackson County on an $80,000 bond for his Georgia crime.

No further information has been released.
