CHICAGO (KCTV) - Former Missouri star wideout Luther Burden won’t be donning his familiar No. 3 when he begins his NFL career this fall.

Burden, who was a second-round pick by the Chicago Bears in this April’s NFL Draft, elected to wear No. 87.

As for his reasoning for the new digits?

“All the good numbers are gone,” he joked to reporters on Friday.

Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson already wears No. 1, which Burden wore during his three seasons at Mizzou. The Bears franchise has 14 retired numbers, significantly cutting into his options.
