Man runs down the street after winning $5.46 million in lottery
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. Gray News) - A man was so excited after finding out he won $5.46 million playing the lottery.
The lucky player won the Lotto 47 jackpot in April, according to the Michigan Lottery.
“I play Lotto 47 every once in a while, and decided to buy a few tickets on a whim,” said the 43-year-old player, who remained anonymous. “When I saw the jackpot was over $5 million, I told my family, ‘That money is going to be mine!’”
He said he checked the numbers online and then rechecked the numbers “several times” to make sure he really won.
“Once I was sure I’d really won the jackpot, I ran out the door and down the street because I was so excited!” he said.
He said his wife did not know what was going on.
“My daughter said to her, ‘I think dad just won the lottery!’” he said.
With the winnings, the man said he plans to take care of his family.
