Linebacker Nick Bolton, Harvesters partner with Hy-Vee to pack family meal kits

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - In of Harvesters’ mission to create equitable access to nutritious food and address the root causes and impacts of hunger, Hy-Vee is introducing new healthy family meal kits.

Area Hy-Vee Store Directors will gather and pack 500 meal kits on May 13, donated by Hiland Dairy and Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton, to kick off the food drive.

The two varieties of meals, tuna casserole and pasta primavera, were developed by a Hy-Vee dietitian to healthy meals for Harvesters.

The meal kits will be sold for $12 donations at all 19 local Hy-Vee stores beginning May 16 through the end of the month.

“We’re thrilled to have Hy-Vee partner with us on our Meal Kit Program and have their help to create two new recipes,” said Harvesters President and CEO Stephen Davis. “Meal Kits are a nutritious and easy way for the community to help provide meals for neighbors experiencing food insecurity in our community. Hy-Vee is a significant partner who always steps up and answers the call whenever we ask for help and also proactively s our mission each year with several campaigns of their own.”
