Police report shooting in east Kansas City is a homicide
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Law enforcement confirmed Monday afternoon that a shooting has been deemed fatal.
The Kansas City Police Department stated officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1600 block of Topping Avenue at 12:30 p.m.
Police said a woman was found in an alleyway next to a home and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman was declared dead at the hospital a short time later, according to KD.
Police identified the victim as 29-year-old Carrisa Perryman.
A woman was taken into custody as a subject of interest. KD said a preliminary investigation pointed to an interaction between the women next to the house that escalated, leading to shots that struck the victim.
