College student from Parkville faces new charges in Cybertruck arson case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A federal grand jury has indicted a college student from Parkville. Kansas City dealership in March.

The indictment charges McIntire with one count of unlawful possession of an uned destructive device and one count of malicious destruction to property.

McIntire is accused of starting a fire that burned multiple Cybertrucks at a Kansas City, Missouri, Tesla dealership on March 17, 2025. Two Tesla charging stations were also damaged in the fire.

Court documents show McIntire was a college student at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. He was home on spring break at the time of the fires, according to prosecutors.

McIntire is scheduled to appear in federal court Friday afternoon.

A federal judge granted his request for bond late last month.
