KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - As the Kansas City Chiefs attempt to get back to the Super Bowl for the fourth consecutive year, they’ll do so with this schedule providing their path.

On Wednesday, the National Football League released the entirety of the 2025 schedule.

Kansas City’s season begins on an international stage and features a league-high eight standalone games, seven of which are in prime time. Here’s everything you need to know about the schedule.

First-of-its-kind opener

Kansas City opens the 2025 season with a trip to Brazil for a divisional battle. The Chiefs will play Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers in a Friday night game that will be the first-of-its-kind, broadcasting exclusively to YouTube.

It’s the continuation of an NFL theme of the Chiefs being used for debut broadcasts on new networks. Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers played in Brazil in Week 1.

Super Bowl rematch

The home opener at Arrowhead Stadium will also be a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.

The Week 2 matchup will be played Sunday, Sept. 14 at Arrowhead and will kick off at 3:25 p.m. CT on FOX. It’ll be the third time Kansas City has met Philadelphia in the regular season during Mahomes’ career as a starter, and the fifth overall meeting when factoring in the two club’s recent Super Bowl matchups.

Holiday matchups

The Chiefs will be playing on both Thanksgiving and Christmas this year -- a season after playing on Black Friday and Christmas. It’s the third year in a row the Chiefs have played on Christmas and the first time Kansas City has played on Thanksgiving since 2006.

Kansas City travels to Dallas in Week 13 for a matchup with the Cowboys. That game will air on KCTV with CBS broadcasting it in the 3:30 p.m. kickoff slot on the holiday.

They’ll host the Denver Broncos on Christmas night at 7:15 p.m. CT in a game that will be broadcast on Prime Video. That game will be part of the NFL’s Week 17 schedule and set the stage for the final week of the season.

Primetime Kansas City

With Super Bowl titles in three of the past six seasons, Kansas City is the most-watched team in the NFL.

This year, there are no indications that will change. The Chiefs are featured in seven primetime games, including a Sunday Night Football matchup with the defending NFC North champion Detroit Lions in Week 6 and a Monday Night Football game against 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders in Week 8.

Both of those games will be played at Arrowhead Stadium.

In total, the Chiefs will play seven games in primetime, which is tied for the most in the NFL.

We meet again

With more than a half-decade as a starting quarterback in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes now has a history with many of his AFC quarterback peers. The next chapter in his history with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will be written in Week 4, when the Chiefs and Ravens meet on Sunday, Sept. 28.
