Oak Park guard Corbin Allen announces commitment to KU

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One of the top high school basketball players in the Kansas City metro has announced his commitment to Kansas.
On Friday, Oak Park guard Corbin Allen announced on social media that he’ll be ing head coach Bill Self and the Jayhawks next season.
“Blessed to announce my commitment to the University of Kansas!” Allen shared on X. “Thank you God for guiding me, and thank you to my family, teammates, and coaches for always believing in me. Ready for this next chapter!”
Allen was part of an Oak Park team that won the Missouri Class 6 state championship in March. He was coached by former Kansas guard Sherron Collins.
“Next chapter kiddo! Super proud of you young man, now the real work starts let’s go be great!” Collins shared on social media.
According to 247 Sports’ consensus rankings, the 6-foot-4 guard is a 3-star prospect and is the 14th-best player in the state of Missouri. He was previously committed to the University of San Diego prior to an April 1 decommitment which set the stage for him to the Jayhawks.
Allen won back-to-back Direnna Awards as a junior and senior and was a three-time 1st Team All-State selection. He averaged 16.3 points per game as a senior for the Northmen.
He becomes the first Oak Park product to the Jayhawks since Ochai Agbaji.
