KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Royals have added some speed back to their roster on Friday.

Outfielder Dairon Blanco returned from a rehab assignment and was reinstated from the injured list on Friday ahead of Kansas City’s series with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Blanco had been placed on the injured list on March 31 due to right Achilles tendinopathy.

KCTV5's Janae' Hancock has the top headlines for the afternoon of May 16, 2025.

He went on a rehab assignment with the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers and had eight hits in 27 at-bats while appearing in 12 games, scoring seven runs in the process.

In a corresponding move, the Royals placed right-handed reliever Taylor Clarke on the paternity list.
