Circumstances unclear in Kansas City double homicide, leaving man, woman dead

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a Saturday evening double homicide.

According to a release, officers were called to the area of E 44th Street and Troost Avenue around 5:40 p.m. on May 17.

Callers told dispatch that two people had been shot, and officers confirmed this when they arrived. They found one man shot and killed on the front porch of an apartment building and a woman dead inside a unit.

Homicide detectives said they are not searching for any additional suspects, but they are still working to determine exactly what led up to the shooting.

KD has not yet released the victims’ identities.
